New year, new business! Forth Accountancy was born as an idea in the hot summer whilst on holiday in Wales. Long hikes are where I do a lot of my thinking and the possibility of setting up my own practice was really fun to imagine and plan out in my head.
Two months later I started to research what I needed to do. As a Chartered Management Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser I needed to apply to my professional bodies for a licence to practice and be monitored. Simple? It took a two months! However the process ensures the business set up is ethical, robust and follows strict codes of conduct. Bank accounts, money laundering training, insurance, referrals from other professionals along with business plans were submitted and after 10 nail biting days a certificate came through. I felt my live plans changing that day, it was really happening.
Five months on from those first thoughts I am starting on my marketing, networking and choosing the digital software for running the practice. I am very excited and can't wait to meet my future clients!
