Job title:  AAT Level 4

 

Salary: £28k

 

 

Main purpose of job:

As an AAT Level 4 qualified accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting our financial operations and client services. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and wants to make a real impact in a growing business. You will work closely with the leadership team and directly with clients to provide accurate, timely, and insightful financial information.

 

 

Reporting to: CEO ( Claire Forth)

Location/Branch: Hybrid working available, first 4 weeks of employment fully office based. Mevagissey office.

Length of contract: Permanent, full time, part time considered.

Main duties of role

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, management accounts, and financial reports

  • Assist with year-end accounts preparation

  • Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Maintain accurate ledgers (purchase, sales, nominal)

  • Support process improvement and automation initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and internal controls

  • Provide ad hoc financial support to the management team as needed

 

Knowledge, skills, experience requirements of role

 

What We're Looking For

  • AAT Level 4 qualified (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar accounting role

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and VAT rules

  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Excel

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – client-focused mindset

  • Adaptable, proactive, and eager to contribute to a growing team
